This lecture with Nick was the final in our design history journey. The sessions ended within the 1980's, where we reflected upon how the politics and culture has shaped the Britain that we live in today. We also explored the rise of official vs unofficial culture in which there was an increase in rebellion, mainly in the North, while other areas of the UK remained mainstream, and was subject to American cultural imperialism. I found this part of the lecture the most interesting as the introduction of American culture to the UK became extremely evident within British pop culture.
